Helambu trek is located in the lower area of the Langtang region. This trek is appropriate for the trekkers, who do not have much time to trek in the elevated assortment of the mountains. But, they can enjoy the trek on exploring the Himalayan views and getting wonderful exploration experiences. Even the people with less physical fitness can make the trek in Helambu circuit.

Trekking in the Helambu circuit is located just 75 km northeast of the Kathmandu valley. Although it is near to the capital city of Nepal, the trekking route is undisturbed and the local villages are outstanding. Helambu is the traditional Sherpa village, who have preserved their traditional form of daily activities and cultural heritages successfully. Sundarijal is the gateway of the Helambu Circuit Treks. It is a gentle climb through the Shivapuri National Park and ethnic villages as Chisapani, Gul Bhanjyang and Tharepati. It is a tough and a long ascent to cross the Tharepati Pass. The Himalayan views of Langtang range and Dorje Lhakpa are dazzling from the trekking route. The ethnic hospitality of the local people is superb. Itinerary

Representative of Reliance Trekking will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and you will be transferred to hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Overnight at Hotel. (Breakfast included)

In the morning, we set up a pre-trip meeting with an introduction of the trekking guide. Managing the document to prepare the paperwork for the trekking, then we visit the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the Kathmandu valley, including Boudhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, the Pashupatinath temple that is situated beside the Bagmati River. Driving back to the hotel, you prepare the trek with packing your belongings. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast included)

Drive from Kathmandu to the Sundarijal northern edge of the Kathmandu valley for about 1 hour by vehicle and start to hike up to Mulkharka, the sprawling Tamang settlement. The trail continues on a gentle climb through the forests ridges before it drops down to Chisopani (cold water) . situated on the ridge from where countless snow peaks can be seen. The sunrise on the Himalaya, from Annapurna to Everest, is particulary outstanding from this point.It located on shivapuri national park area.It takes 6 hours,O/N at Chisapani on Lodge .(Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner included)

The trail continues to drop down on a good, sometimes level and crosses meadows and fields to Pati Bhanjyang. This is a Brahman and Chhetri village on a saddle at the bottom of the ridge at 1860 meter. From here the trail starts climbing up again on a series of steep switchbacks to Chipling,It Takes 5 hours,O/N at Chipling on Lodge, (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner included).

Trek starts from chipling At the upper end of this village the trail makes another steep, 200 meter, climb on a stone staircase to the top of the Jhogin Danda ridge. From the ridge the trail descends through forest to a large chorten (round Buddhist monument) overlooking the Tamang village of Gul Bhanjyang, which is a delightfull, classic hill village with a pleasant main street. rom Gul Bhanjyang, the trail climbs the ridge to another pass.Another downhill trek from the pass takes to Kutumsang.It takes 5 hours,O/N at Kutumsang on Lodge.(Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner included).

Trek from Kutumsang, climb above on a steep trail mostly through fir and rhododendron forest where there are no permanent settlements. The trek continues toYurin Danda with magnificent views of Langtang and Gosaikund Peaks. than cross the pass at 3510 meter before descent to Magen Goth. Afterwards,pick up the ascending/descending trail again, passing through forests, across flower-strewn meadows and crossing streams till we reach Tharepati.It takes 7 hours,O/N at Tharepati on Lodge, (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner included).

From the northern end of the village the trail turns east and drops steeply into a ravine. Here the vegetation changes to large firs, then oaks and rhododendrons, as rapidly loos altitude. After crossing the Chhyadi Khola on a suspension bridge, the trail makes a short final ascent to the prosperous Sherpa village of Malamchigaon, spent strolling around the village. Melamchigaon is a large prosperous Sherpa village with extensive fields of barley, corn and potatoes. The gompa (Tibetan Buddhist temple) here has a line of prayer flags at the front, brightly painted walls and statues of Guru Rimpoche and his consorts. It is local believe that Guru Rimpoche mediated in a cave above the village and wore robes made by dakinis (female angels)It takes 5 hours. O/N at Melamchigaon on Lodge ,( Breakfast, Lunch,Dinner included)

After Melemchigaon the trail decending until the River Melamchikhola, then croos the bridge and climb up until TarkeGyang. The day you enter a cultural destination it call Helambu Region, walk up to Tarke Gyang where you can enjoy with Sherpa culture with traditional village and monasteries. The stone houses are close together with narrow alleyways separating them on Tarke Gyang. It takes 5/6 hours O/N at Tarke Gyang on Lodge. (Brekfast,Launch,Dinner included)

Trek starts from Tarke Ghyang, cross small forest with the view of beautiful village of Helembu region. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sherpa village of Gangyul. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national religion of Bhutan. O/N at Sermathang on Lodge. It takes 5 hours, O/N at Shemathang on Lodge( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, included).

After Shermathang the way all the down to Malemchi Puul Bazaar with many Sherpa village visiting Buddhist monasteries, stupa and along with beautiful panaroma scene snow mountain and Terrace. Before reaching Melamchi Bazzar through long suspention bridge, it takes 7 hours. O/N at Melamchi puulBazzar on Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)

On the way to Kathmandu from melamchi bazaar we pass through beautiful Rivers, Mountains, Land scopes field, cultural villages, and can be captured adventures scenes. And arrive on Kathmandu. It takes 4-5 hours, O/N at Hotel in Kathmandu,(Breakfast Included)

Free day for shopping and departure After breakfast in to your hotel, we will drop you at the airport to take your onward flight as per time. If you have late flight, you will have time to do last minute shopping if you deserve. (Breakfast included)

Trekking equipment

The Following information will give you some idea about what you need to bring for the trek as the backpack for the hiking in Nepal and the gear play a vital role for the successful trip and we suggest you to have all the necessary gear for the trip and not to have unnecessary equipment/things that you will not be using for the trip and list of the gear you need for the trek are:

  1. Good down Sleeping bag (Optional/You need to bring your own but if you do not have on your own and it is to be chargeable during the trek.
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag to keep your all the gear and this will be carried by the porters.
  3. Daypack bag for yourself
  4. A down Jacket
  5. Shade hat
  6. Warm wool hat to cover your ears
  7. A pair of lightweight warm gloves.
  8. T-shirts 2- 3 pieces
  9. Lightweight thermal tops.
  10. Fleece jacket.
  11. Fleece Wind-proved jacket (optional).
  12. A pair’s nylon hiking shorts which are quick drying one
  13. Underwear
  14. Two pairs of lightweight long underwear.
  15. Two pairs trekking pants, preferably that zip on/off at the knees so they double as shorts
  16. Four pairs of liner warm socks
  17. A pair of light to medium weight waterproof hiking/trekking boots.
  18. A pair of light trekking shoes for camp/lodges
  19. A pair sandal (Optional)
  20. A water bottle.
  21. Head/Torch Light.

Medicines and First Aid Kits

  1. Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude-related headaches like DMX.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Imodium or Peptone besom, Flexon capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
  4. Diamox 125 or 250mg or 400mg tablets for altitude sickness.
  5. 1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as moleskin, band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc. Reliance Trekking company’s team also provide first aid kits)

Miscellaneous but Important

  1. Passport and extra passport photos (4 copies)
  2. Durable wallet/pouch for travel documents, money & passport.
  3. Lip care (Balm) At least SPF 20, 2 sticks.
  4. Sun’s cream with SPF 40 is recommended
  5. Pocket knife.
  6. Water purification Iodine tablets
  7. Toiletry kits and be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.

Note Regarding Itineraries
Although we generally adhere to the schedule, the itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control, including weather and terrain conditions, suitable campsite availability, and the group’s general fitness level.
