Dhorpatan Trek is an amazing trip through the picturesque terrain of the Dhorpatan hunting reserve in Nepal. If you love the hunting trip, this is the only one trip that you can enjoy in Nepal, but it takes extra itinerary in the trekking and pay the hunting tax. This trek leads you through the peaceful trail and the meadows that is highly suitable for the real nature lovers.

Beginning the trek from Darbang after driving about 3 hours from Beni, it leads you through the magnificent setting of nature. Passing through the ethnic inhabitants, it leads you gradually to the wildlife. It is an opportunity to explore the biological diversities and the undisturbed areas. The sub-tropical and alpine vegetations can be found in this hunting reserve. The forest is dotted by the fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, oak, juniper trees. The eco trail of Dhorpatan includes the famous Jaljala Pass of 3430 meters that offers the brilliant scenery of the greenery and the white Himalayan peaks. The trek leads up to 4490 meters, known as Phagune Phedi. The fauna include Ghoral, Himalayan Tahr, Black Bear Pheasant, Partridge and other various species that make the reserve diverse. The trek concludes in Beni via Gurjaghat and Darbang.

Itinerary

Our representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be transffered to hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Overnight at Hotel.(Breakfast included)

In the morning, we set up a pre-trip meeting with an introduction of the trekking guide. Managing the document to prepare the paperwork for the trekking, then we visit the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the Kathmandu valley, including Boudhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, the Pashupatinath temple that is situated beside the Bagmati River. Driving back to the hotel, you prepare the trek with packing your belongings. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast included)

Trek from Kathmandu to Beni, passing through Trisuli River at first. After that we drive to Marsyandi River and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes directly into Pokhara. The drive from here goes through uphill into zigzag road all the way to Naudanda. It than goes up through Nayapul. On the way we can fabulous views of Annapurna South, Fish tail, green hills, terraces and villages. To reach Beni, our drive moves along the Kaligandaki River.It takes 10 hours, O/N at Guest house on Beni.

Drive from Darbang, people are engaged in making ‘Khukuri’. Khukuri is the curved Nepali weapon used for weapon as well as tool. In Every house in the village at least one person has adept the skill of Khukuri making.views of Dhaulagiri Himal can be seen from Dharapani. It takes 6 hours, O/N at tented camp on Dharapani.

This remote area with stream and gorges will be a wonderful place to explore. The beautiful landscape added beauty.and advantures walk can be expirenced. It takes 7hours. O/N at tented camp on Lamsung.

Trek from lamsung , mixed forests of Rhododendron & Oak etc can be viewd. The scenery of beautiful forest, high mountains including Dhaulagiri Himal, Gurju Himal, Churen Himal, Putha Himal etc can be observed on the Way of Lamsung to Jaljala.It takes 6 hours. O/N at tented camp on Jaljala.

Trek starts from Jaljala,the trail descends up to Khahare Khola after crossing it the trails goes ahead on the bank of the stream and through mixed forests to reach Dhorpatan. It’s a fantastic place in the middle of the jungle. It takes 6hours. O/N at tented camp on Dhorpatan.

Visit on Dhorpatan, different types of animals like Leopard, goral, Himalayan Tahr, black bear, barking deer & other many animals. Birds species and plants species include fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, Juniper, spruce & up to 36 species of flora can be observed. The reserve includes several villages’ people by hill tribes as well as people of Tibetan descent who supplement farming with trade and animal husbandry. You can also see Monastery, Chortens and local market. Wooden roofs are another attraction of trekkers. We can also learn typical life style of people in this place. O/N at tented camp on Dhorpatan.

Trek from Dorpatan to Bobang, the life style of people & others many beautiful scenarios of western Himalayans can be observed in the way to Bobang.It takes 7 hours. O/N at tented camp on Bobang.

Trek from Bobang to Burtibang the trail leads continuously goes towards Burtibang from Bobang. Passing through Terrace field, Hills, Moutains It fells awesome and advantures.It takes 6/7 housrs. O/N at tented camp on Burtibang.

Drive from Burtibang to Baglung we can see forest, green hills, rivers, streams and other beautiful things. It takes 7/8 hours by Vehicle. O/N at Guesthouse on Baglung.(Breakfast, lunch,Dinner included)

Drive from Baglug towards pokhara exicting . In afternoon our program is Sightseeing in beautiful place of pokhara. We can visit famous David falls,Gupteswor Mahadev camp, Tibbeten Refugee.Today we visit Phewa Lake, which is the second largest Lake of Nepal after Rara Lake. We can do boating in the Lake, which is very enjoyable moment for you. In the Phewa Lake there is Varahi Mandir, which is surrounded by the water of Lake from all side. Many people come in the temple for Worshiping. After visit Varahi Mandir we again enjoy the boating in the other part of Phewa Lake and from the Phewa Lake we can see the Mt. Machhapuchre and in the water of Lake we can see the shadow of Mt. Machhapuchre. In the afternoon flight back to Kathmandu, overnight in Hotel. It takes 4 hours. O/N at Guest house on Pokhara. . Breakfast included.

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu it takes 7 hours. O/N in Hotel at Kathmandu. Breakfast included.

Free day for shopping and departure After breakfast in to your hotel, we will drop you at the airport to take your onward flight as per time. If you have late flight, you will have time to do last minute shopping if you deserve.

Trekking equipment

The Following information will give you some idea about what you need to bring for the trek as the backpack for the hiking in Nepal and the gear play a vital role for the successful trip and we suggest you to have all the necessary gear for the trip and not to have unnecessary equipment/things that you will not be using for the trip and list of the gear you need for the trek are:

  1. Good down Sleeping bag (Optional/You need to bring your own but if you do not have on your own and it is to be chargeable during the trek.
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag to keep your all the gear and this will be carried by the porters.
  3. Daypack bag for yourself
  4. A down Jacket
  5. Shade hat
  6. Warm wool hat to cover your ears
  7. A pair of lightweight warm gloves.
  8. T-shirts 2- 3 pieces
  9. Lightweight thermal tops.
  10. Fleece jacket.
  11. Fleece Wind-proved jacket (optional).
  12. A pair’s nylon hiking shorts which are quick drying one
  13. Underwear
  14. Two pairs of lightweight long underwear.
  15. Two pairs trekking pants, preferably that zip on/off at the knees so they double as shorts
  16. Four pairs of liner warm socks
  17. A pair of light to medium weight waterproof hiking/trekking boots.
  18. A pair of light trekking shoes for camp/lodges
  19. A pair sandal (Optional)
  20. A water bottle.
  21. Head/Torch Light.

Medicines and First Aid Kits

  1. Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude-related headaches like DMX.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Imodium or Peptone besom, Flexon capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
  4. Diamox 125 or 250mg or 400mg tablets for altitude sickness.
  5. 1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as moleskin, band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc. Reliance Trekking company’s team also provide first aid kits)

Miscellaneous but Important

  1. Passport and extra passport photos (4 copies)
  2. Durable wallet/pouch for travel documents, money & passport.
  3. Lip care (Balm) At least SPF 20, 2 sticks.
  4. Sun’s cream with SPF 40 is recommended
  5. Pocket knife.
  6. Water purification Iodine tablets
  7. Toiletry kits and be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.

Note Regarding Itineraries
Although we generally adhere to the schedule, the itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control, including weather and terrain conditions, suitable campsite availability, and the group’s general fitness level. It is important to understand that our trek is logistically complex and it is not unusual that adjustments be made. Our guide will orient you each evening to the following day’s plan and their good judgment is the key to the long history of successful treks that Reliance Trekking Pvt.
