The Khayer Lake Trek in Annapurna is also popular as Khopra Ridge Trekking. It leads you to the spectacular countryside and the bosom of the Himalayan peaks. Khayer Lake is a glacial Lake, which is less crowded trekking destination in Annapurna. It is a perfect trip for those who want to avoid the main stream trek and head through the isolated remote trail.

Heading through the ethnic communities of the lower Annapurna region, the trek to Khopra ridge begins from Nayapul and walk towards the Poon Hill Ghorepani. Exploration of the ethnic communities and the dramatic sunrise view from Poon hill is rarely can be mentioned. The route then leads you through the rhododendron forest all the way to Tadapani and heads towards Baile, Chistibung and Khopra ridge. The glacial Khayer Lake is an amazing destination to feel the calmness of the Himalaya and the Lake. The whole landscape is dramatic. While returning, you will be enticed on visiting the Gurung village of Ghandruk. You can enjoy exploring around the village and a museum dedicated to the ethnic Gurung people of the area.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters).
Representative of Reliance Trekking will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and you will be transferred to hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Overnight at Hotel. (Breakfast included)
Day 2 :
Pre-trip Meeting and Kathmandu city sightseeing Tour.
In the morning, we set up a pre-trip meeting with an introduction of the trekking guide. Managing the document to prepare the paperwork for the trekking, then we visit the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the Kathmandu valley, including Boudhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, the Pashupatinath temple that is situated beside the Bagmati River. Driving back to the hotel, you prepare the trek with packing your belongings. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast included)
Day 3 :
Departure from Kathmandu to Pokhara By Tourist bus
In the morning, drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu through the winding road. The Prithvi highway goes along the Trishuli River side. Exploring the side valleys and terraced hillside, you reach to Pokhara and transfer to the hotel. O/N at Hotel. (Breakfast included)
Day 4 :
Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Ulleri (1960 m.)
Good morning Pokhara. After the breakfast, drive to Nayapul, which is about an hour and begin the trek. After the check in to the ACAP counter, take a walk through the terraced hill and pass Hile, Tikhedhunga that leads you to Ulleri, after 1.5 hour steep climb through the stone staircase and rest. 7 hours. O/N at Hotel.(Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included)
Day 5 :
Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2775 m.)
After the breakfast, we begin to walk through the isolated trail that is dotted by the rhododendron forest. We gradually walk steep up to ascend Ghorepani. We continue the trek to Phalate and Chitre. The views of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri I,Tukuche peak, Himchuli on the way to Ghorepani entice us. 4 hours. O/N at lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch dinner Included)
Day 6 :
Morning, excursion to Poon Hill (3210m) and trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2670m).
Early in the morning, we take about one hour straight uphill hike to Poon Hill to enjoy the exclusive sunrise view over the snow peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri summits. After a wonderful session, climb down to Ghorepani and have a breakfast. Then, take a walk through up and down trail via Deurali and walking along the stream. Then it is up and down trek through the forest and a steep climb takes you to Tadapani. 6- 7 hours walk,O/N at lodge. (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included).
Day 7 :
Swat Village to Kobra Danda (4020m). 5-6 hours.
Day 8 :
Kobra Danda to Khayer Base camp (4620m). 4-5 hours.
Day 9 :
Explore around the Khayer base camp.
Day 10 :
Khayer Base camp to Kobra Danda. 5-6 hours.
Day 11 :
Kobra Danda to Chistibung (3100m). 4-5 hours.
Day 12 :
Chistibung to Dobato (3460m). 5-6 hours
Day 13 :
Dobato to Tadapani (2520m). 4-5 hours.
Day 14 :
Tadapani to Ghandruk village. 3-4 hours.
After the breakfast, head from Tadapani, we trek down through the steep route to Ghandruk through the rhododendron forest. Take a rest on reaching Ghandruk and explore the Gurung culture and traditions. 7 hours, O/N Lodge. (Breakfast Lunch dinner Included)
Day 15 :
Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul (1070m) Drive to Pokhara.
It’s a steep downhill trek from the Ghandruk village. From Khimche, you have a driving option to Pokhara. Or continue the trek to Nayapul and drive to Nayapul after checking out from the ACAP counter. Then transfer to the hotel. O/N Hotel Pokhara. (Breakfast Included)
Day 16 :
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus
It is all the way about 7 hours beautiful road drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu through the Prithvi highway and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel. Breakfast Included)
Day 17 :
Departure day your Destination.
