Annapurna Circuit Trekking is an adventurous trekking in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is also known as the Round Annapurna trekking that crosses the highest Himalayan pass, the Thorong La (5416 meters). The rewarding Himalayan sceneries, biological variations and persistently changing landscape of the Annapurna allure the trekkers have a unique trekking in Nepal. It connects the Annapurna region with the Mustang region of Nepal.

The well-designed two week journey through the Annapurna Circuit trail embarks through the lower altitude Marshyangdi River Valley. The enchanting trail offers the charming beauty of Annapurna, including the greeneries of forest, waterfalls and the ethnic communities. The cultural part of the Tibetan Buddhism of Manang further magnetizes you to explore the spirituality of the local people. The most challenging, but awesome part of the trek is the day you cross via Thorong La Pass. Muktinath temple, Kali Gandaki valley and Jomsom are some of the highlighted destinations and attractions on the next part of the trek. The apple garden and arid landscape are breathtaking. It continues heading through the deepest gorge of the world and climb up towards Ghorepani and Poon Hill. Poon Hill is the best sunrise view point over THE Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range.  The trek around Annapurna, consistently go up and down in altitude and ends at Nayapul.

Itinerary

Representative of Reliance Trekking will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be transferred to hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Overnight at Hotel. (Breakfast included)

In the morning, we set up a pre-trip meeting with an introduction of the trekking guide. Managing the document to prepare the paperwork for the trekking, then we visit the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the Kathmandu valley, including Boudhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, the Pashupatinath temple that is situated beside the Bagmati River. Driving back to the hotel, you prepare the trek with packing your belongings. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast included)

We begin the road trip from Kathmandu through the snake shaped hillside with the scenery of the Trishuli and Marshyangdi River valley. Reaching Khudi, the trek starts with an hour walk to Ngadi. It is just a warm up for the upcoming journey. The exciting view of the Manaslu range can be explored. 8 hours, O/N at Lodge on Nagdi. (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included)

The trek starts from Nagdi after the breakfast and leads you to Jagat. Crossing various suspension bridges, it reaches to Syange, where you can explore the waterfalls. The cascading waterfalls are extremely alluring you. The trail from Syange is a steep uphill trail. The views of Himalchuli and others are excellent. Rest at Jagat. 7 hours ,O/N at Lodge on Jagat. The journey embarks after the breakfast, crossing a long suspension bridge and with a gradual climb. Walking through the valley, it follows a steep uphill trail to Chamje and almost 3 hours gradual climb to Taal of Manang village. The local inhabitants are heavily influenced by the Tibetan Buddhism and the houses are made in a antique style, made up of mud and thatch. Passing the Karte village, it leads you to Dharapani. 7 hours, O/N at Lodge (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included).

Beginning the trek from Dharapani, it leads you towards the west following the route to Chame. The trek goes through the Bagarchhap and the views of Annapurna II and Lamjung himal entice you. The Tibetan Buddhist settlements make your trek outstanding. From Koto, the trek to Nar Phu valley splits, which is a journey to the antique towns. This trek leads you to Chame, the district center of Manang. 6- 7 hours walk, O/N at Lodge on Chame. (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included).

The trail from Chame after the breakfast is through the narrow and curved rock face. The Marshyangdi River valley is majestic and the trail widens once it reaches to the hill ridge. Reaching Lower Pisang, it’s a gradual walk to Pisang and take a rest. /N at Lodge. Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included).

Leaving Pisang after the wonderful breakfast, we have a selection on the trail north and south of the Marsyangdi River that finally joins at Mungji. The view of the Hingde airport of Manang can be seen from the route. Passing the culturally significant destination of Bhraka, it leads you to Manang and take a rest. O/N at Lodge. A short hike to Bhojo Gompa and the Gangapurna Lake is wonderful for the scenery and also for the acclimatization to the increasing altitude. A 6-7 hour exploration trip is a magnificent experience. O/N at Lodge. (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included)

Beginning the trekking from Manang village, the trail crosses a stream, climbs to a village of Tenki and gradually leads you through the Marshyangdi Valley turning northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola. Then the trail goes through the pastureland and the juniper forest. Yak kharka is literally a yak grazing meadow. 4-5 hours. O/N at Lodge. (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner Included)

Walking from the YAK Kharka after the breakfast, cross the suspension bridge that takes you to Ledar. The spectacular scenery accompanies you throughout the trek. Reaching the Thorong Phedi, you have an option. Either you take a rest for the back up tomorrow and explore around or trek to the high camp so that the trail will be shortened. 7 hours. O/N at Lodge. It is a huge, exciting and a challenging day in the Annapurna round trekking. The climb then proceeds for 4 hours climb until you reach a large Chhorten, which then leads you to the top of the icy pass, known as Thorung La, passing through some prayer flags after a short duration. It is the highest Himalayan pass in the world. The views of the snowy peaks around strike you. The descending trail leads you to the Muktinath temple. It is a famaous pilgrimage destination of the Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Overnight at lodge. (Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner Included)

After paying the homage at the Muktinath temple, the trek leads you via Ranipauwa village after the breakfast. The trail goes through the steep and barren hillside that takes you to the Jomsom via dusty Kali Gandaki valley. It is an option to take a flight to Pokhara if you are timely limited or continue the trek through the apple garden to Marpha. 7-8 hours,O/N Lodge. (Breakfast Lunch dinner Included)

After the breakfast at Marpha, we take a new route toward Kalopani via Chokhopani village. We pass through the Thakali people, which is popular for the typical Nepali dishes that are mouth watering. Exploring the breathtaking views of Dhaulagari, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Fang and Annapurna I peaks, we cross the River and reach Kalopani. 7 hours ,O/N lodge. (Breakfast Lunch dinner Included)

After the breakfast at Kalopani, we begin the trekking after crossing the bridge at Ghasa and head towards the lower altitude tail. The Rupse waterfall entices you with the cascading scenery. We continue down the east bank from Kopchepani via Garpar to a bridge at Dana. At Narchyang Besi, we can explore the hydropower project. Tatopani is literally a hot spring. It is believed that having a bath there is a cure for the skin diseases. 7 -8 hours,O/N Lodge. (Breakfast Lunch dinner Included)

It’s time to climb up through the Ghar Khola valley after having breakfast at Tatopani. The trail leads us through a terraced farmland with the green hills on its surroundings. Shikha is a beautiful village of pun Magar. 5 hours. O/N Lodge. (Breakfast Lunch dinner Included)

After the breakfast, we begin to walk through the isolated trail that is dotted by the rhododendron forest. We gradually walk steep up to ascend Ghorepani. We continue the trek to Phalate and Chitre. The views of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri 1,Tukuche peak, Himchuli on the way to Ghorepani entice us. 4 hours. O/N at lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch dinner Included)

Early in the morning, we take about one hour straight uphill hike to Poon Hill to enjoy the exclusive sunrise view over the snow peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri summits. After a wonderful session, climb down to Ghorepani and have a breakfast. Then, take a walk through up and down trail via Deurali and walking along the stream. Passing Tadapani, we trek down through the steep route to Ghandruk through the rhododendron forest. Take a rest on reaching Ghandruk and explore the Gurung culture and traditions. 7 hours, O/N Lodge. It’s a steep downhill trek from the Ghandruk village. From Khimche, you have a driving option to Pokhara. Or continue the trek to Nayapul and drive to Nayapul after checking out from the ACAP counter. Then transfer to the hotel. O/N Hotel Pokhara. (Breakfast Included)

It is all the way about 7 hours beautiful road drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu through the Prithvi highway and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel. Breakfast Included)

On this day, our representative drops you at the airport for the final departure. Thank you very much for trekking with us. See you again.

Trekking equipment

The Following information will give you some idea about what you need to bring for the trek as the backpack for the hiking in Nepal and the gear play a vital role for the successful trip and we suggest you to have all the necessary gear for the trip and not to have unnecessary equipment/things that you will not be using for the trip and list of the gear you need for the trek are:

  1. Good down Sleeping bag (Optional/You need to bring your own but if you do not have on your own and it is to be chargeable during the trek.
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag to keep your all the gear and this will be carried by the porters.
  3. Daypack bag for yourself
  4. A down Jacket
  5. Shade hat
  6. Warm wool hat to cover your ears
  7. A pair of lightweight warm gloves.
  8. T-shirts 2- 3 pieces
  9. Lightweight thermal tops.
  10. Fleece jacket.
  11. Fleece Wind-proved jacket (optional).
  12. A pair’s nylon hiking shorts which are quick drying one
  13. Underwear
  14. Two pairs of lightweight long underwear.
  15. Two pairs trekking pants, preferably that zip on/off at the knees so they double as shorts
  16. Four pairs of liner warm socks
  17. A pair of light to medium weight waterproof hiking/trekking boots.

Medicines and First Aid Kits

  1. Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude-related headaches like DMX.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Imodium or Peptone besom, Flexon capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
  4. Diamox 125 or 250mg or 400mg tablets for altitude sickness.
  5. 1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as moleskin, band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc. Reliance Trekking company’s team also provide first aid kits)

Miscellaneous but Important

  1. Passport and extra passport photos (4 copies)
  2. Durable wallet/pouch for travel documents, money & passport.
  3. Lip care (Balm) At least SPF 20, 2 sticks.
  4. Sun’s cream with SPF 40 is recommended
  5. Pocket knife.
  6. Water purification Iodine tablets
  7. Toiletry kits and be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.

Although we generally adhere to the schedule, the itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control, including weather and terrain conditions, suitable campsite availability, and the group’s general fitness level.
