The journey to Lower Dolpo via Jumla begins after flying to Jumla from Nepalgunj. Heading through the isolated and incredible route, it passes Via Chotra, Chaurikot and gradually leads to the heaven on earth- Phoksundo Lake. The Jumla region is dominated by the Khas communities and the Dolpo region is dominated by the Tibetan Buddhist and Bon Po communities. Lower Dolpo is located in the Phoksundo National park and is the home of snow leopard. The alpine meadows of this region are the home of Yarsagumba and to collect this, thousands of people head with a caravan spending several days searching for the Yarsagumba.
