Encircled by the Karakoram mountain ranges and Himalayan, Ladakh includes the Upper Indus River Valley, Suru Valley, Zanskar valley, Lahaul and Spiti district. The mountains in this region are at medium altitude. Most of the major towns and settlements in Ladakh are carved by Indus river. The region receives very less rainfall, thus, is also known as a rain shadow area. However, winter snowfall fulfills the need for water.

Since Ladakh is in high altitude, vegetation is rare. Some greenery can be seen alongside the rivers, and the vegetation in the areas with thick human settlement are distinct that will leave you amazed. Rich vegetation is possible due to proper irrigation. Mint, stinging nettles, colorful wild roses, Physochlaina praealta, and green meadows are common flora and fauna found here.

Leh Ladakh is not just for only those seeking adventures, it as well serves those who seek the spiritualism. Find refuge in some of the oldest monasteries in the world. In addition to the most famous monastery named Hemis Monastery built in the 17th century, you may visit Phugtal monastery, Shey monastery, Alchi Monastery, Lamayuru monastery, Matho monastery, Phyang Gompa, Thiksey Monastery and Likir Monastery. Check out the ancient relics, mesmerizing thanks, and beautiful Buddha statue.

Diskit Monastery, a beautifully carved structure on the hill is a treat to watch. Nubra valley’s oldest monastery houses a huge drum, a beautiful statue of Cho Rinpoche and several ancient paintings.

During the festival ‘Dosmoche’, the monastery is filled with devotees. And a tour in these monasteries will shower tourists with a deep knowledge of Buddhist culture, architectures, and histories and on top of that, they will be filled with peace.

Literally, taste the Himalayan life during your Leh Ladakh tour. The influence of Tibetan culture is visible not only on their customs but on the cuisines as well. SKU and Tsampa are the main foods in this region. Apart from this, Ladakh is famous for its ‘gur gur cha’, a special tea.

Itinerary

Cost Includes

  • Airport pick up and drop in Delhi by private vehicle. Accommodation in 2 star category Hotel in Delhi 3 Nights and Leh 3 nights on BB basis as per the itinerary

  • Monuments fees while sightseeing in Delhi, Manali & Leh Hemis Monastery and other places.

Trekking equipment

The Following information will give you some idea about what you need to bring for the trek as the backpack for the hiking in Nepal and the gear play a vital role for the successful trip and we suggest you to have all the necessary gear for the trip and not to have unnecessary equipment/things that you will not be using for the trip and list of the gear you need for the trek are:

  1. Good down Sleeping bag (Optional/You need to bring your own but if you do not have on your own and it is to be chargeable during the trek.
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag to keep your all the gear and this will be carried by the porters.
  3. Daypack bag for yourself
  4. A down Jacket
  5. Shade hat
  6. Warm wool hat to cover your ears
  7. A pair of lightweight warm gloves.
  8. T-shirts 2- 3 pieces
  9. Lightweight thermal tops.
  10. Fleece jacket.
  11. Fleece Wind-proved jacket (optional).
  12. A pair’s nylon hiking shorts which are quick drying one
  13. Underwear
  14. Two pairs of lightweight long underwear.
  15. Two pairs trekking pants, preferably that zip on/off at the knees so they double as shorts
  16. Four pairs of liner warm socks
  17. A pair of light to medium weight waterproof hiking/trekking boots.
  18. A pair of light trekking shoes for camp/lodges
  19. A pair sandal (Optional)
  20. A water bottle.
  21. Head/Torch Light.

Medicines and First Aid Kits

  1. Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude-related headaches like DMX.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Imodium or Peptone besom, Flexon capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
  4. Diamox 125 or 250mg or 400mg tablets for altitude sickness.
  5. 1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as moleskin, band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc. Reliance Trekking company’s team also provide first aid kits)

Miscellaneous but Important

  1. Passport and extra passport photos (4 copies)
  2. Durable wallet/pouch for travel documents, money & passport.
  3. Lip care (Balm) At least SPF 20, 2 sticks.
  4. Sun’s cream with SPF 40 is recommended
  5. Pocket knife.
  6. Water purification Iodine tablets
  7. Toiletry kits and be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.

Note Regarding Itineraries
Although we generally adhere to the schedule, the itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control, including weather and terrain conditions, suitable campsite availability, and the group’s general fitness level. It is important to understand that our trek is logistically complex and it is not unusual that adjustments be made. Our guide will orient you each evening to the following day’s plan and their good judgment is the key to the long history of successful treks that Reliance Trekking Pvt. Ltd.  Please remember that our ability to make adjustments as needed helps to ensure that your trek is safe and successful. Your safety is paramount.
