Rara Lake Trek

Rara Lake Trek is an amazing journey to the queen of Lakes in Nepal that is located in the far western region in Nepal. The trek goes through the arid but the wonderful landscape of the remote countryside, including the Sinja valley that is the origin place of Nepali language. The trail is off-the-beaten and includes several passes to enter into the Rara National Park.

The trek begins from Jumla after a picturesque flight from Nepalgunj. The continuous trek through the arid, hilly slope and following the River, it takes you some of the spectacular valleys, like Sinja. Walking on the solitary path, you will be greeted by the uniquely chirping birds and the wild animals can be seen while walking. Danphe, the national bird, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, pine and juniper forest makes the Rara National Park a home of diverse flora and fauna. Rara Lake, the ultimate destination of this trek, is the biggest and deepest Lake in Nepal, which was described as the queen of Lakes and the heaven on earth. Spending an extra day around the Rara Lake, exploring its beauties, you can enjoy boating, horse riding, jungle walk, bird watching and many more. The trek uses a different trail to Jumla and fly back to Nepalgunj. As an option, you can also fly from the Talcha airport, which is about 3 hours walk from Rara Lake.
