This trek is the reverse of the previous Helambu trek mantioned on this web site and what we mention here is the extension trail if you are planning to trek back to Kathmandu via Helambu rather than exit the Langtang Valley at Dunche.
We trek out of the valley and travel on though a beautiful wood to Sing Ghompa.From here we travel on to The Sacred Lakes of Gosainkunda a very holy pilgrimage site for Hindus.The trail is quite rugged at times and seems to go on forever before reaching Gosainkunda.
There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda. According to legend, Shiva created Gosainkunda when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison thunderbolt that threatened to destroy the world.From Gosainkunda we trek on to the Laurabina pass and then down into the Helambu region.For a better description of the region please go to the Helambu trekking page.
Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters).
Our representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be transffered to hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Overnight at Hotel.(Breakfast included)
Day 02- Pre-trip Meeting and Kathmandu city sightseeing Tour.
In the morning, after breakfast, At around 8am, we host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu and introduce your trek leader/guide. Please seek this opportunity to ask questions about your trek. We will also supply you with our trek . For the meeting, please make sure you bring passport, three copies of passport-size photos, and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer Please inform us in advance if you will be arriving late and therefore are unable to attend the pre-trip meeting. After the Pre-Trip meeting and breakfast, your sightseeing trip will start in the morning. We visit, Boudhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. After Boudhnath Stupa we visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here we see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. Overnight Hotel. (Breakfast included)
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syaprubesi(1460m) by Bus
You will start early bus journey to Syabrubesi; the starting point of the trek. Behind Trisuli Bazaar the road is advantures because of the grubby road. During the travel you will pass through many small villages on the way will be fascinating you reaching Dhunche(Headquater of Rasuwa) and the entry spot of Langtang National Park. After One and half hour driving we reach the destination on Syaprubesi. It takes 8 hours. O/N Syabrubesi(BreakFast, Lunch, Dinner Included)
Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2470m)
After having breakfast you will continue your trip to your next destination. You are starting your trip descending towards a steep forest slope to the Langtang River. You cross a bridge and head up with a winding path. The trail descends into a valley to cross a stream and climbs past several water-driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang . It Takes 7 hours,O/N in Lama hotel.(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included)
Day 05:Trek From Lama Hotel to Langtang (3430m)
After having breakfast you will continue your trip to your next destination. You are starting your trip descending towards a steep forest slope to the Langtang River. You cross a bridge and head up with a winding path. The trail descends into a valley to cross a stream and climbs past several water-driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang It takes 7 hours. O/N in Langtang,( Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner included)
Day 06:Trek from Langtang - Kyanjin Gompa: (3870m)
You pass through the tiny village, stone-built houses and climb to a Chorten and passed a huge mani along a gentle path of a hill. The valley relocates to a U-shaped one as you enter into a level of riverbed. Today is short walk; allowing time to acclimatize and explore the surrounding.This place is famous for cheese and curd. It takes 4 hours. O/N in Kyanjin Gompa, (BreakFast, Lunch, Dinner included)
Day 07: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa: Visit Day
See from Kyanjin Gompa,Kyanjin Ri (4773m) and Tserko Ri (4994m) are the good viewpoints in the area that you can climb. visit Tserko Ri for spectacular view of the langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung,Langtangm, Langtang Yubra ,Kangjala Himalm Yansa Tsenji and the foot of the huge lirung Glacier. Back to Kyanjin Gompa for Lunch having short rest and walk around the Kyanjing valley. O/N in Kyanjin Gompa ( BreakFast, Lunch,Dinner included)
Day 08:Trek back from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2470m)
Today you reach to Lama Hotel. All the way downhill but you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up. Take more time and suggested you to walk very slow down to Lama Hotel it takes 7 hours. O/N in Lama Hotel( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)
Day 09: Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru( 2230m)
First trail decent to river, cross the river and ascend to Thulo Syabru. You will see the fascinating view of Langtang Himal and more. On the way of your trek you will pass through pine and Junieerps forests. To reach Thulo Syabru , it takes 6 hours, O/N in Thulo Syabru.( Breakfast, lunch, Dinner included)
Day 10: Trek from Thulo Syapru To Shin Gomba(3450m)
Trek from shin Gomba take the broad trail climbing up to Dimsa village and the trial continues less steeply, through rhododendron, hemlock and Oak forests to Shin gomba. On the way of your trek you will see fantastic views of Langtang Himala and langtang valley. Shing gomba is another popular place for Cheese., It takes 5/6 hours. O/N in Shing gomba ( BreakFast, Lunch, Dinner included).
Day 11: Trek from Shin gomba To Gosainkunda(4380m )
The trail ascends smoothly through rhododendron covered point to the top of the rim and through a forested area. The area in-between Shin gomba and Laurebina Yak is a sanctuary for the red panda, an endangered species that the Nepalese call cat bear. You return to the ridge path and climb a wider route through alpine country to arrive at a Gosainkunda. Explore around the many Lakes in Gosainkund ,It takes 6/7 hours, O/N on Gosainkunda( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included).
Day 12: Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte(3430m) VIA Laurebina Pass(4610m)
Today is a bit challenge day; the trail is climb, rough and crosses moraines. Passing three more small lakes, the trail ascend and cross Laurebina Pass, after the path down to phedi and you continue walk up and down through out crossing a rocky hill with pine, rhododendron trees Sandle Woodm Juniper Foest until GhopteIt takes 7/8 hours, O/N in Ghopte,( Breakfast, Launch, Dinner included).
Day 13:Trek from Gopte to Malemchigaon (2530m)
You slide down through a forested area and climb through a dry river-bed to arrive at a Kharka that is surrounded by rhododendron forest. You climb through the forest to arrive at the village of Thare Pati. Climbing the ridge directly above the village gives you a marvelous view of the Jugal area. Cross the village and enter a forested area, again descending to Melamchi River and cross the suspention bridg to Melamchigaon It takes 6/7 hours. Day 14:Trek from Malemchigaon to Tarke Gyang(2600m )
After Melemchigaon the trail decending until the River Melamchikhola, then croos the bridge and climb up until TarkeGyang. The day you enter a cultural destination it call Helambu Region, walk up to Tarke Gyang where you can enjoy with Sherpa culture with traditional village and monasteries. The stone houses are close together with narrow alleyways separating them on Tarke Gyang. It takes 5/6 hours O/N in Tarke Gyang (Brekfast,Launch,Dinner included.)
Day 15: Trek from Tarke Gyang to Sermathang (2610m)
You will cross small forest with the view of beautiful village of Helembu region. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sherpa village of Gangyul. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national religion of Bhutan. Overnight in Sermathang, It takes 5 hours, O/N in Shemathang,( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, included).
Day 16: Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Puul Bazaar( 840m)
After Shermathang the way all the down to Malemchi Puul Bazaar with many Sherpa village visiting Buddhist monasteries, stupa and along with beautiful panaroma scene snow mountain and Terrace. Before reaching Melamchi Bazzar through long suspention bridge, it takes 7 hours. O/N in Melamchi puulBazzar (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)
Day 17: Drive from Melamchi Bazzar to Kathmandu by Bus or private vehicle
On the way to Kathmandu from melamchi bazaar we pass through beautiful Rivers, Mountains, Land scopes field, cultural villages, and can be captured adventures scenes. And arrive on Kathmandu. It takes 4-5 hours, O/N at Hotel in Kathmandu,(Breakfast Included)
Day 18: Departure day your Destination
Free day for shopping and departure After breakfast in to your hotel, we will drop you at the airport to take your onward flight as per time. If you have late flight, you will have time to do last minute shopping if you deserve. (Breakfast included)
