Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha pass

The Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass trek is a great combo outing in the wild that connects the trails of Rolwaling & the Khumbu in a fascinating mix of the Rolwaling valley that lays East West of Mt. Gauri Shankar at 7145m & close-up to the Tibetan border that runs into Tashi Lapcha which is one of the well known famous passes through Cho Rolpa as you sweep into the biggest populated village of the Khumbu when you enter the Khumjung valley that makes up the heart of the well known villages of the legendary in this area.

Rolwaling is blessed with a lovely eco-system that is abundant with bio-diversity of a special kind which makes this area a prime destination for adventure in Nepal. The Rolwaling & Tashi Lapcha pass at (5700m) are technically closed to outsiders; however, one can obtain a permit for Ramdung, a well known trekking peak & then the Nepal Mountaineering Association {NMA} office issues a permit for Rolwaling & Tashi Lapcha. Hiking in this area can be dangerous sometimes due to the rock falls on the western side & the path along the icefalls is getting technically more difficult to navigate to the movement of the glacier. Attempting Ramdung peak in this region is an added incentive trekking in this area.
Wrapped in welcome mystery, trekking in this remote region is an experience that can influence your holidays for all practical purposes, whatever. It's a wild Shangri-la that needs exploratory to the core. This territory was once the take-off point for expeditions that set out to search for the elusive ''Yeti'', retroactively becoming the source of some interesting tales on the weird yeti which still hasn't been found despite evidence of footprints. The Tamang ethnic community makes up the prime inhabitants of this area & their colorful liberal traditions bring a special charm to this region where you are enchanted with the awesome mountain landscapes & the different vegetation as you pass through different elevations on your journey. The lovely vistas of Pharchamo peak (6187m) & Ramdung at 5925m make this region a challenging & attractive trip where the rewards are abundantly fulfilling for its endless diverse natural beauty.
Best season really for the Tashi Lapcha Rolwaling Pass trek is March to May and September to December. The months of September to November would probably be the best time because of the clear skies that give you jaw-dropping views.
