Jumla To Rara Lake Trek

Overview

Jumla and Rara lie northwest of Kathmandu in the remote area of Karnali. Rara lake is the biggest lake of Nepal,The route is very much 'off the beaten track' and affords glimpses of cultures and scenery very different from the rest of Nepal. The clear, high altitude lake of Rara which mirrors the snow capped Himalayas is ringed with pine, spruce and juniper forest. In summer rainfall is low, and ideal for trekking. In the winter there is often snow on the ridge surrounding the lake, in the autumn season trekkers are rewarded with a profusion of alpine flowers. 

Itinerary

Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters).
Our  representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be transffered to  hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Overnight at Hotel.(Breakfast  included)
Day 02- Pre-trip Meeting and Kathmandu city sightseeing Tour.
In the morning, after breakfast, At around 8am, we host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu and introduce  trek leader/guide. Please seek this opportunity to ask questions about your trek. We will also supply you with our trek . For the meeting, please make sure you bring passport, three copies of passport-size photos, and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer. Please inform us in advance if you will be arriving late and therefore are unable to attend the pre-trip meeting. After the Pre-Trip meeting and breakfast, your sightseeing trip will start  in the morning. Visit, Boudhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where observation of Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. After Boudhnath Stupa we visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River.  Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. Day 03: Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj(400m).
Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj .It takes 40minute and O/N at Hotel on Nepalgunj. . (Breakfast included)
Day 04: Flight from Nepalgunj to (Jumla2400m)
Flight from Nepalgunj it takes thirty-minute scenic flight to Jumla. O/N at Tented camp on Jumla.
Day 05:Trek from Jumla to Khali Gaon (3685m)
The trek to rara lake starting point is Jumla and  trail through some villages, and  goes somehow straight and it will be easy walking experiencing the social life style of the region.Nearly after the walk of 3 hours the trail slightly ascends. After the walk of nearly 4 hours passing a small passes Danphe Nangla (3691 mtrs) you will reach the village Khaligaon. This is the village where the only technical school of the western region “Karnali Technical School” is producing technical man power in regular basis. The village is interesting to observe the activities carried out there. There are some hotels and tea houses to refresh.It takes 7 hours.O/N at tented camp on khali Gaon.
Day 06:Trek from Khaligaon to Bulbule (3182m)
The trek from Khaligaon to Bulbule, the trail ascends through jungle of pine and rhododendron trees and some villages are seen on trail. It takes 7hours. O/N at tented camp on Bulbule.
Day 07: Trek from Bulbule to Rara Lake(2980m) Via Ghuchi Lagna Pass(3480m).
The trek from Bulbule to Rara lake, the trail ascends and crossing the pass Ghuchi Lagna reaches to Rara lake. The trail goes through beautiful field and Army camp. This trail provides fantastic sightseeing of the place. It takes 6 hours, O/N at tented camp on Rara Lake.
Day 08: Explore Rara Lake(2980m)
Rara is the biggest lake of Nepal that gives relief with its magnificent look. The lake is surrounded by forest and different kinds of flowers can be seen by the side. People can cycle around the lake. Boating facilities are also available. There is a hotel by the side but camping is also available.O/N at tented camp on Rara lake.
Day 09: Trek from Rara Lake to Jhyari [2630m] Via River camp
Trek from Rara  from Rara Lake and continue skirting along the target destination. On crossing a ridge, entering  the village of Jhyari. Strolling by the Jhyari Khola, the trail further follows terraced farmlands. On Dhauligar Khola valley, a suitable camp site is found on the river bank.  Witness an exotic charisma of nature and outstanding panorama of snow-capped mountain peaks. It takes 7 hours, O/N at tented camp on RiverCamp.
Day 10: Trek from river camp To Ghurchi Lagna pass [3450m] Via Chautha [2770m]
Trek from river camp, Dhauligar Khola blurs out of our trekking route, we pass through farmland and then enter the village of Pina. Pina has a police post and some hotels.Continue climbing to the Ghurchi Lagna Pass and come across several small chortens, alpine-like pastures, walnut groves and a narrow valley. Finally, the steep slope guides us into the village of Chautha where we conclude the trek of the day. It takes 6/7 hours, O/N at tented camp on Chautha.
Day 11: Trek from Chautha to Tharamara [3280m]
Trek From Chautha, the trail follows the northern bank of the Sinja Khola past the hotel and health clinic under the massive overhanging rock at Kabra. Silaji found in this area is the source of the important medicinal mineral which is believed to cure almost anything. The route then passes through the villages of Bumra and Nyawre, before climbing to the pasture at Tharamara It takes 6/7 hours O/N at tented camp on Tharamara .
Day 12: Trek from Taramara to Jumla
Trek from Taramara, following the trail gently sloping upwards, we march towards Jumla. We meet tall birch trees on our way to the Khali Lagna and Danphe Lekh. From atop the ridge, we can have the most spectacular views of the mountain ridges to the south and Jumla below. Further on, we descend steeply to the first night's campsite. Utmost caution is required while trekking along this trail. We then follow the same route back to Jumla. After reaching Jumla, we can spend our a,fternoon exploring the busy market town or simply pursuing whatever we feel like. It takes 7 hours O/N at tented camp on Jumla.
Day 13: Flight from Jumla To Nepaljung Via Kathamandu
Flight from Jumla it takes 30minutes scenic flight to Nepalgunj. On the same day, And flight that continue flight to Kathmandu in afternoon it takes 45 minutes . O/N in Hotel at Kathmandu. Breakfast included.
Day 14: Departure day your Destination
 Free day for shopping and departure After breakfast in to your hotel, we will drop you at the airport to take your onward flight as per time. If you have late flight, you will have time to do last minute shopping if you deserve
